Josephine Dixon Obituary
Josephine Mae (Ronnie) Dixon, 88, of North Pole, Alaska, died at her daughters' home in North Pole on Sept 8, 2025, surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with dementia and Alzheimer's.
She was born in Lomansville, Lawrence County, Kentucky, in 1937 to Fred and Effie Lowe in their home outside of Paintsville, Kentucky. Josephine attended and graduated from Fairview High School. She was a homemaker and a home health nurse, taking care of many in the Ashland, Kentucky, area.
She enjoyed needlepoint, playing cards, reading and crosswords. Also going to bingo, she got to travel to many states with family. One of her favorite places was spending weekends at Little Sandy Campgrounds in Greenup, Kentucky, where she made many friends. To her grandchildren, she was their Nana or Mama. Some remember a special "juice" she made for them. She was young at heart - "age was only a number."
