Arlen J. Schutt, age 89, Fairmount, ND, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton, SD.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 16, at 2 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt officiated by Rene Hasbargen.
Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Milton C. Stevenson American Legion Post 106 of Fairmount.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service.
Arlen James Schutt was born August 25, 1935, in Richland County, rural Fairmount, ND, to Clarence and Linnea (Peterson) Schutt. He attended school in Fairmount, graduating in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. After returning home, Arlen farmed with his dad. He later purchased the farm.
Arlen married Marlene Jensen in 1985 in Hankinson. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene; her son, Chad; grandson, Tanner; several nieces and nephews; and a very special person, Wayne Hardie. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law in Iowa.
Arlen was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; a sister, Audrey Jacobs; and four brothers, Clifford, Dale, Lloyd and Milton.
