Arthur Griswold Obituary

Arthur Griswold
October 12, 1957 - August 3, 2025
Arthur William Griswold Jr. ("Art"), age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his residence in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. He was born on October 12, 1957, in Milford, Connecticut, to his parents, Arthur W. Griswold Sr. and the late Judith A. Griswold.
Following his graduation from Foran High School, Art enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served as a Fire Control Technician aboard the USS William V. Pratt. After returning home, he was a dedicated employee of United Illuminating, serving for an impressive 34 years. In retirement, Art continued to serve others by working for Storm Services, aiding communities after natural disasters.
Beyond his career, he was an avid handyman and gardener. He grew up with a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time on the water or at the beach. He could often be found reading, practicing yoga, watching NASCAR races, or rooting for the New England Patriots.
More than anything, Art had a deep affection for his family and friends, and he cherished hosting gatherings at his home, always ensuring everyone felt welcome.
Art is survived by his former wife and best friend, Kristin Griswold, with whom he was married for 29 years; his two daughters, Amanda Griswold and Morgan Griswold; his grandson, Dino; his father, Arthur W. Griswold Sr.; his brother, Richard Griswold (Linda); his two sisters, Laurie Obuhanick (Paul) and Patty Connor (Stephen); and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Judith Griswold; his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Art's passing has left an indelible mark on his family and friends. While we will miss his warm smile and wonderful sense of humor, his memory will forever reside in our hearts.
A private military graveside burial will be scheduled in October.
