Rose Molen Obituary
Rose Dowler Molen, 96, of Branford passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Dennis C. Molen. Rose was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania on July 23rd, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Verner and Veronica Beasley Dowler. She worked for U.S. Electric Motor Company of Milford for many years until her retirement. Rose loved the beach and lighthouses, was an avid golfer, enjoyed doing puzzles and reading, was a football and NY Yankees fan. Rose was a long time member of the First Congregational Church in Derby. Loving mother of Monna Porter(James), Jan Molen, Wendy Russo (Richard) and the late Dennis Molen. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Gail White, Betty Bearinger, Lola White, Rae McClelland and Janet Shatting.
The visiting hours will be Thursday, Oct. 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday morning, Oct. 24th at 10:00. Interment will follow in Mt. Saint Peter's Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or The Suicide Prevention Foundation (www.save.org) www.northhavenfuneral.com

I will miss Rose, the grande dame of Montoya, who I grew to love very much. There is a place in my heart that only she filled. I have been blessed to know her.

Met Rose about 7 or 8 years ago when I came to Branford and the condo complex. She would direct me which weeds to pull in front of her place or how much to prune her roses. More importantly, she introduced me to The Paper Store AND her cornbread!!!!!
