Anna Estep Obituary

Anna Mary Estep, 90, of New Market, passed away on July 8, 2025.

Anna Mary was born June 11, 1935, in Forestville, and was the daughter of the late Ray Oliver and Barbara Ellen Golladay Zirkle. She graduated from New Market High School in 1953.

Anna Mary married Billy Gene Estep on November 28, 1952, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2023. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by nine siblings. Anna Mary is survived by one son, Billy Gene Estep Jr. and partner, Jane Vest; two daughters, Beverly Holsinger and husband, John Holsinger, and Annette Baker and husband, Jimmy Baker. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Karen Zirk, Rebecca Rhinehart, Kiana Anastopoulos, Carrie Ouellette, Kristopher Estep, Morgan Phillips, and Kendall Phillips. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Anna Mary was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran church for 60 years. She was active in the church for the majority of her life. She played the organ for many years, and sang in the choir. She was an avid gardener with many flower beds, vegetable gardens, and fruit trees. She loved reading, bird watching, and spending time with her family. Anna Mary was also a talented seamstress.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life on August 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, in New Market. The celebration will be followed by a small meal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local food bank, Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, or fire department/rescue squad of your choice.
