Clifford Rose Obituary

Clifford W. "Wayne" Rose
Born: December 21, 1946 in Salt Lake City, UT
Died: July 23, 2025 in McHenry, IL
Clifford W. "Wayne" Rose, 78, of Woodstock, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Northwestern Hospital in McHenry, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 21, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Clifford and Augie "Oleta" Rose.
Wayne spent much of his life as a horse trainer and felt most at home on the farm or at the racetrack. He found peace in life's simple moments, especially early mornings with a cup of coffee and the daily newspaper. But more than anything, he loved being a dad. His greatest joy was raising his children, cheering them on from the sidelines, and teaching them to work hard and lead with kindness.
He was also the best storyteller, sharing humor and unforgettable tales with those around him. He'll be forever remembered for his quiet generosity and gentle presence.
He is survived by his children, Sara (Zach) Meers and Kip (Nikki Sterling) Rose; his grandchildren, Summer, Kellan, and Beckett; his brothers, Doyle Rose and Drew Rose; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Maureen Rose and Gayle Dougherty.

My heart is saddened to hear that Wayne has moved on...I wish him Happy Trails. My heart holds Sara, Kip and the entire family in huge love. I always enjoyed his stories - his delicious chocolate chip cookies (passed on by his Mom with a secret ingredient he never shared with me) - his love of horses and hearing him talk about his kids. I am glad our paths crossed and I will remember him fondly. I wish Wayne and all those connected with him deep peace and great love. Sara (and Rusty) Foszcz
