Died: October 8, 2025 in Janesville, IL
Donald F Thurow age 99 of Janesville, WI died October 18, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Home in Janesville, WI. He was born in Crystal Lake, IL on July 16, 1926. The son of the late Charles and Anna (Kamholz) Thurow. Donald served in the United States Army 7th Armored Replacement Battalion out of Fort Knox, TN. He worked for many years for Knaack Manufacturing prior to his retirement.
Donald was a lifelong and devoted Chicago Cubs fan and never missed a game. He loved to create and put together model train villages. Don was also an avid bowler and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Survived by his four children David (Pam) Thurow, the late Linda McArthur, Ricky (Gail) Thurow and the late Gary Thurow. Grandfather to Laura (Bill) Watling, Brian Thurow, Melissa (Jerry) Mathis, Jennifer Jacobs and Christina Jacobs. Great Grandfather to Londyn and Sydney. Further survived by his special friend Beverly Fry. He was preceded in death by 7 Brothers and 1 Sister.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM at the Chapel at Windridge Memorial Park 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd. Cary, IL. 60013. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until time of services at the chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be held immediately following. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home of Elkhorn, WI is honored to serve the Thurow family.
