Rickey Anderson Obituary

Rickey Lee Anderson
Rickey, age 72, of Crystal Lake Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on June 30, 2025, peacefully in his sleep. He was lovingly called by his family many nicknames, such as: Picky Rick, Pick-lay, Buck and Bro. As many names as they had for him, he had even more for his loved ones.
He was born on December 28, 1952 in Elgin, Illinois to Robert J. and Ruth M. Anderson.
Rickey grew up in Crystal Lake and graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School, later going on to become a well-known brick mason. He created and ran his own company, RA Masonry, for over 40 years. He worked closely with many homeowners and significant companies on prominent projects that still stand the test of time. He was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake.
Beyond work, Rickey enjoyed fishing, playing softball, ping pong, spending time with his family, having a beer with his buddies and of course watching and "acting" like The Three Stooges. Always willing to give you the shirt off his back, he was the best son, brother, uncle and friend you could ever ask for. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor and love for his family. No matter the conversation, Rickey always had something witty to say and was a master of word play, a known jokester to all.
"We're here for a good time; not a long time!" -Uncle Rick
He is survived by his uncle, Leor Popp and four siblings: Randall (Jennifer) Anderson, Roxann (Casey) Voris, Robyn Anderson (David Carlin) and Rochelle (Michael) Smeja. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews: Timothy (Jennifer) Lynn, Danielle Irwin, Tana Dvorak, Stephanie Sullivan, Rachel (Jim) Lohmann, Rebecca (Evan) Schano, Rock (Jennifer) Smeja and Lexie (John) Chikko. He even had many loving great nieces and nephews, as well as a great, great niece.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Anderson and his beloved dog, Curly.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Rickey will be greatly missed, but his closest loved ones know he is having the party of his life in Heaven.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Is going to adapt a dog and we got curly. We named him curly perick because of the 3 stooges. That dog was like a son to him.
