Kenneth "Ken" D. Spangler, 76, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on October 23, 1948, in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Melvin D. Spangler and Emma (Barnett) Spangler. On April 12, 1969, in Valparaiso, Indiana, Ken married Lana Burch. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2013.

Ken was a 1967 graduate of Washington Township High School in Valparaiso, Indiana. He served in the United States Air Force from March 1968 to December 1974. Five of those years were served a Hahn Air Base, Germany. He was employed at Mead Johnson's Pharmaceutical Company in Evansville, Indiana for five years before attending The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has pastored churches in Crane, Kokomo, Peru, and most recently Young America, Indiana. Ken also retired with 20 years' service from Ellers Mortuary in Kokomo, Indiana.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael S. Dorsey; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Farrah (King) Spangler; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Richie Sears, three grandchildren, Trenton Sears, Kamden Sears, and Kaelyn Orr, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Louise Taylor and several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lana, and sister, Janet Johnson.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. EST at Eller's Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, IN with Pastor Bev Bubner officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery in Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 16th as well as one hour prior to the service at Ellers Mortuary in Kokomo.
