Frederick Gump Obituary

Frederick Ray Gump, 86, of New Freeport, died Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the Bella Healthcare Center in Uniontown. He was born August 27, 1938, in Littleton, W.Va., a son of the late Isaiah Gump and Nona Fordyce Gump. Fred worked his whole life as a farmer and a handyman. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Wise of New Freeport; one son, Edward Gump of Graysville; one sister, Norma June Stevens of Fairmont; eight grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Beryle Gump, Meryle Gump, Faye Gump, Jean Gump, Lenore Mae Gump, Homer Gump, Walter Gump, George Gump, Virginia Hibbs, Sandra Kay Johnson; three half- sisters, Nellie McLaughlin, Bessie Jobes and Margaret Miller; and one granddaughter, Frankie Lee Schmuck. Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, W.Va., from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 23. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, in the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Ned.
