Carol Hampton Obituary

Mrs. Carol Martin Hampton, 84, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at her home.

A native of Alamance County, Mrs. Hampton is the wife of Charles M. Hampton and the daughter of the late Albert Jesse Martin and the late Catherine Basnight Martin.

Mrs. Hampton retired from Western-Electric and served as a volunteer at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hampton was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon.

In addition to her husband, Charles, of the home, Mrs. Hampton is survived by her daughter, Deborah Hampton Michael, of Walnut Cove; her son Charles Gary Hampton and his wife, Linda, of Durham; one grandchild, Hillary Peake; a sister, Geri Curtis; two nephews, James and Anthony Curtis; and her much beloved extended family, Rob and Kendra Hughes, and their children, Jared, Gavin and Addison.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randal Porterfield and a brother, Albert Jesse Martin, Jr.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Kellie Gallagher. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service.
