David Allen Obituary

DAVID ANTHONY ALLEN David Anthony Allen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, at the age of 86. Born on November 29, 1938, in Ann Arbor, MI, David was a man whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, service, and dedication. David married Janine Bettinger, on July 6, 1990, in Harrison, MI. He was a devoted husband and found joy and companionship that enriched his life. David dedicated 30 years of his life to the City of Dearborn, where he built lasting relationships and made significant contributions to the community. Beyond his career, he was an active member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus, finding camaraderie in service and friendship among his peers. A proud veteran, David served four years in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that reflected his values of honor, courage, and integrity. His military service profoundly shaped his character and worldview, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. David was a man of varied interests; he enjoyed hunting and fishing, which provided him with a deep connection to nature. He found solace in woodworking, transforming raw materials into heartfelt creations. Gardening was another of his passions, as he nurtured not just plants but the very essence of life itself. His culinary skills brought joy to family gatherings, where everyone eagerly anticipated his delicious meals. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janine Allen, and his children: Gretchen (Vance) Arlotta, Nancy (Ken) Roberts, Martin (Angi) Allen, and David (Jodi) Allen. His legacy also lives on through his stepchildren, Julieanne Reno and Gregory (Hannah) Reno. David was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and a devoted great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren, each one a bright light in his life. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As we reflect on David's life, we feel the warmth of his kindness, the strength of his integrity, and the joy he brought to our lives. David Anthony Allen's presence will be missed dearly, but the memories he created will forever remain in our hearts. Online condolences can be shared at www.steuernolmclaren.com
