Ellen Anderson Obituary

Ellen May Anderson, age 94 of Oshkosh, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 30, 2025 from Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, Wi. Born on May 24, 1931, in Lebanon, WI, to Hugo and Lillian (Mallow) Maass. For those who knew Ellen, she provided a calm and gentle presence.

She married Harold Paul Anderson on November 4, 1953, and the two enjoyed a beautiful life together for 42 years until Harold's passing in 1995. Ellen had a beautiful spirit where she spent most of her early adult life taking care of her husband and twin sons as a home maker. She was an active member of Martin Luther Church, where she participated in the Ladies Guild and accompanied the church choir for more than 50 years.

Ellen embraced life in a simple manner, obtaining much of her happiness and commitment from the moments she shared with her grandkids and great grandkids. This included trips to the Oshkosh Menominee Zoo, attending numerous dance recitals, enjoying family get-togethers, playing card games, going for bike rides, and sharing updates on articles she discovered in the newspaper. A number of memories that will last a lifetime.

Ellen is survived by her children, Dave (Julie) Anderson and Paul (Linda) Anderson; grandchildren, Dane (Anna) Seckar-Anderson, Lacey (Bryan) Sliek, Damian Seckar-Anderson, Whittney (Juston) Wara, Shane (Alisa) Anderson, Taylor Anderson and Shannon Anderson; great-grandchildren, Brady, Graham, Jameson, Clementine, Walker, Julia, Mackenzie, Brianna, Evan, Austin, Lexi and Clark. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Anderson; daughter, Kathleen Anderson; siblings, twin sister Elaine (Daniel) Malchow, Violet (Arnold) Jaeger, Leona (Herald) Schuette, and Leroy (Leona) Maass.

A funeral service for Ellen will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Martin Luther Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh, WI 54901, officiated by Rev. Tom Voss. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park at 1:00pm.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Miravida Living and Ascension Mercy Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Ellen during her time with them.

Dear Paul and family, I was so saddened to hear about the passing of your mother. I was never able to meet her but I feel like I know her as I live life in her old home. Im sure the peacefulness I experience here is somewhat attributed to her. I pray that our Lord will comfort all of you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Vince Nettles
