Judith Davies Obituary

Judith Ann Davies (Werner), age 84, of Oshkosh, entered into eternal life on May 30, 2025. Judy was born on November 17, 1940, in Seymour to Fred and Lucille Werner.

Judy graduated from Green Bay Technical School with a degree in nursing. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and devoted nearly 50 years of her life to caring for others, particularly the elderly and those with dementia, at the Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh.

Judy married Thomas Davies on May 2, 1964, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. Their loving union was blessed with three daughters. Tragically, Judy became a widow at a young age when Thomas passed away in 1972. She dedicated her life to raising their daughters, infusing their lives with love and faith.

Judy became a born-again Christian on June 28, 1968, when she placed her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ's atoning death, burial, and resurrection as payment for her sin debt and received the gift of eternal life.

To say Judy was an avid soul-winner would be an understatement. She would tell anyone who would listen about her Saviour and loved nothing more than explaining God's simple plan of salvation. She led scores of people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

She was a longstanding and active member of Wyldewood Baptist Church in Oshkosh, where she served in various capacities including Sunday School teacher, Bus Captain, and Deaf Interpreter. She also worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Wyldewood Christian School.

Judy was always a farmgirl at heart, a trait that translated into her love for gardening, canning, and yard work. Her strong work ethic was evident in all she undertook.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Kim (Tom) Brayton of Pickett, Tammy (Robert) Hatch of Butte des Morts, and Jill (Travis) Shold of Superior; six grandchildren, Adam (Arlene) Spanbauer, Rachel (Joseph) Stewart, Kim (Samuel) Coman, Mark (Cassie), Troy (Hannah), and Aimee Shold; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Davies; her parents, Fred and Lucille Werner; her in-laws, Glen and Christine Davies; her siblings, Shirley Row, Mildred Kraning, Carol Pingle, David Werner, and Darrell Werner; and grandson Trevor Shold.

A funeral service, officiated by Reverends Randall King and Jason Brenenstuhl, will be held at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave, Oshkosh, WI on Tuesday, June 10th at 7:30 pm. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 5:30 pm.

Judy's family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Moments Hospice in Appleton.

Judy was a very strong warrior for Christ, always spreading the word. She will be missed but how wonderful that she´s in paradise walking the streets of gold. Always remember the good memories and know that my thoughts are with you all. Just a beautiful spirit! Praise the Lord for taking her home..

She was so, so sweet. Always had a smile on her face. Thankful for her taking the time to help teach me sign language. Now my daughter is using the same sign book to learn that Mrs. Davies gave me all those years ago. Praying for your families during this hard time of loss. Heaven is growing sweeter everyday.

Ms Davies is the main reason why my family was reintroduced to Christ and born again. Because of her big heart, she saw a family with young children playing outside and stopped to introduce herself and invite these kids to church. This simple gesture would be one that has helped developed mine and my siblings relationship with Wyldewood Baptist Church. Ms Davies gave me my first pair of roller skates, a used pair that was handed down by one of her daughters. It was Ms Davies who helped my mom start a garden at Wyldewood because she knew how much we loved gardening. I shall never forget her kind and endless love for God and the people she guided. My heart is full knowing she is in heaven doing what she loves.

My biggest memory of Mrs. Davies was when she paid to support me for a missions trip as a teenager. I helped her with yard work and she taught me how to properly mow the grass. I also loved watching her do sign language in the back of our church services. She had such a heart for service and loving people. I can't wait til we can see her again one day.

The Sun shone a little dimmer the morning after you left. You were always an inspiration to me. Always will to share the gospel with any lost soul.
You will never know what your trust in me being a good testimony to your daughter (s) did for my spiritual life.
Thank you for letting me have Tammy as a friend when I was a young Christian.
Tammy, have been a light in my life and I am sure your mother ignited that light in you!
Can you imagine the souls your mother is meeting in heaven that she witnessed to and brought the gospel to and they're in heaven today because of her and Jesus Christ?
May the Lord fill your heart with warm memories and comfort you and your family journey of grief.
Love you all!!
