CAIRO, Ill. - Ann Ellen Williams, 86, of Cairo, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Countryside Healthcare in Bardwell, Kentucky.
She was born on March 31, 1939, to George Loree and Bernice Vivian (Walker) Harrison in Cairo.
Ann had previously resided in Bettendorf, Iowa, and Boynton Beach, Florida. She retired from Shawnee Development after 26 years of service. She had worked as an LPN at St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo and later worked at Daystar Care Center, also in Cairo, and she had worked in private duty nursing in Florida and Illinois. She loved her animals and being outside in her yard. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Guild at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cairo. She had attended Cairo Baptist Church in her early years. Ann had been married to Joe Edwin Williams of Cairo, Illinois. Ann received her last rites on May 20, 2025, from Basilio Az Cuc.
Survivors include her sons, Geoffrey (Debbie) Williams and Robin Todd Williams; daughter, Laurie (William) Berry; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Christopher) Drennan, Lauren (Kris) Dillman, Holly Williams, Haley Rae (Taylor) Daugherty, Taylor Shae (Chris) Spurlock, Amber Berry, Charlotte (Cody) Rust, and Jeffrey Berry; 15 great-grandchildren; and the love of her life and most loyal companions, Gabe and Marley.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Mighty Rivers Regional Worship Center in Cairo with Rev. Larry Potts officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day of service at the church.
Interment will follow the service at Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children and/or Mighty Rivers Regional Worship Center.
