I just came across Joanie´s obituary and although I didn´t know her, I stopped when I saw she was the baby of 11 children. I´m the 9th of 11 children and unfortunately, I know too well the pain of losing one of my siblings.
I just felt compelled to write a note to let you know how sorry I am for the loss of your amazing daughter, sister, aunt and friend! I only wished I´d had the luxury of meeting Joanie, I know we´d have a lot in common. I´ve never read a more breathtaking and beautiful description of her much too short life.
May She Rest In Eternal Peace

Joanie was a great childhood friend. We attended schools together up through high school. Joanie got the idea of bringing friends from the neighborhood together for annual Christmas caroling, of which we would practice at her home in Salem. She was always positive & fun. She will truly be missed.

Todd & family-
Joanie is certainly a light to all who knew her. I only met her a handful of times and she was wonderful and each time I think of her I smile. What an enormous legacy she´s left. Lots of prayers for strength and peace.

So enjoyed traveling with Joanie on the Stonehill Alumni trips. Even lost luggage did not dim her enthusiasm in visiting a new country.

Dear Joanie was the most thoughtful person, as her obituary recounts. I´m a Stonehill college friend who was privileged to have known her and shared many laughs and memories. When I adopted my beloved rescue dog Bailey, she sent him a box of doggie toys, a doggie blanket and treats. Also a "scrabble tiled" namesake leash holder from a family member- crafter I think. The thought and generosity she effusively gave to everyone, human or pet was very rare. Gone too soon, one of a kind, makes me realize I need to take a page out of "Joanie´s " book and be a more thoughtful person to the folks in my life. Thanks for that lesson Joanie, just wish it didn´t take your departure to remind me that. Heaven is richer now you are there, but we all want you back here.

Joanie's friends and family meant the world to her. Her ability to forge and maintain lifelong connections was a hallmark of her life. Throughout elementary school, she organized annual childhood Christmas caroling groups (with weekly practice sessions held in the basement of "10 Bradford") as well as themed Halloween groups, notably the 7-person Wizard of Oz cast extravaganza. In later years, settled on the South shore with her much loved husband Todd, Joanie regularly organized Salem gatherings at familiar hangouts for friends and cousins. She was known for sharing silly jokes, surprise gifts, and was the go-to for family news and updates. Joanie also meant the world to her friends and family. No doubt, many will agree we are blessed to have so many wonderful memories to get us through the months and years ahead. To say Joanie will be missed is truly an understatement.

Joanie will be so missed. I will always have great memories meeting with her and other cousins monthly to plan the St.Pierre Family Reunion. She had such a keen eye for detail and wanted to pull out all the stops for her family. Rest in peace Joanie. -Rachel St.Pierre (Sharon St.Pierre´s Daughter)

I am Joan's brother in law, she graced my life for the last 30 years.
Joan is one of one, the most singularly generous and kind person I have ever known in my life.
Even as she suffered through complex health issues, she never complained about what she was going through. What she endured was all very real and very hard, but those health issues never dimmed or diminished her grace, her light, her kindness and generosity, never.
We will all miss her dearly, but she left behind such a legacy of genuine generosity, kindness, light, warmth and grace, it will stay with us forever.
Joan is free now, I know that, in every fiber of my being and she is smiling upon us and radiating, faith, hope and love.
Thank you Joanie, and keep shining down on us.

Every time Joan and I ran into one another, which unfortunately was only a handful of times..... she always made me smile. Her heart and soul were gigantic!!! She always asked about my sister and asked how she was doing.
I didn't know her that well, but I always knew that she was one of the "really good ones! "
I am so sad about her passing.
Prayers to everyone who was blessed to have known her.
