Dale Helmers Obituary

RIO VERDE, AZ - Dale Alan Helmers, 67, Rio Verde, AZ, died at his residence on June 26, 2025.
Dale was born December 16, 1957, in Fairbury, Ill., the son of John William and Darlene Elaine Tavener Helmers.
He married Amy Lynn Fulton on April 14, 1984, in Decatur, Ill. She survives in Rio Verde, AZ.
Other survivors include his mother, Darlene, Cropsey, Ill.; two daughters, Kelsey Lynn Helmers, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Laura Elizabeth Helmers, Houston, Texas; three brothers, Dennis Helmers, Fairbury, Ill., Douglas Helmers, Cropsey, Ill., and Jeffrey Helmers, Hoffman Estates, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill.
Dale received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University and his MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology. He previously was the Vice President for NiSource Inc., Merrillville, Ind.
Dale loved golfing, hiking, traveling and was very active in the Rio Verde community.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.

I have many fond memories of Dale as a skilled environmental leader at NiSource while I was an attorney working for him. One highlight, we were at the Cubs- Kerry Wood 20 strike outs game together in 1998. Sincere condolences to the family.
