Bryce Thompson Obituary

Longtime Alaskan Bryce A. Thompson, 45, passed away May 31, 2025, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

A private service in his honor was held in Soldotna.

Bryce was born Apr. 12, 1980, in South Korea.  He came to Alaska in 1990 and lived in Nikiski.  He attended Nikiski Middle / High School and graduated there.  He later moved to Anchorage.

Bryce enjoyed fishing, playing video games and spending time with friends.

His family wrote, "He loved each of us in his own way, as we loved him. He tried to please everyone. Bryce was a beautiful addition to our family. We watched him grow to a man and face the pain and challenges in everyday life. He always had a smile to greet us or was smiling while standing in the river casting for that next big one. He is at peace in heaven now and forever."

Bryce is survived by his parents, David and Katherine "Kitty" Thompson of Kenai; brother and sister-in-law, Aaron Thompson of Anchorage, and Brad and Becky Thompson of Kenai; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Randy Aquipel of Burlingame, Calif., Connie and Steve Zanazzo of Fairbanks, and Viorica Thomspon of Kenai; nephew, Dylan Thompson of Anchorage; and nieces, Margaret King and husband, Colin, Macy and Giana Zanazzo, all of Fairbanks, and Amelia Aquipel of Burlingame, Calif.

Please send any donations to cancer research, patient support and education or Mental Health Support.
