Cary Harr Obituary

Cary Brett Harr was born in Harrisburg PA on March 3,1970, to Robert Harr Sr. (1944-2023) and Patricia Harr. He spent his childhood in the backwoods of Pennsylvania. From a young age, he was always tinkering, inventing and creating.
Cary wrestled for Central Dauphin High School ('88) and continued at Loch Haven University, earning a degree in Health and Physical Education. He spent a summer teaching in Australia before moving to New Jersey to teach and coach at Southern Regional High School. In 1997, he helped Southern Regional to their first Shore Conference and South Jersey Group IV Championship.
He earned a Master's in Instructional Technology from Stockton University and taught at Monmouth and Stockton, creating "Jeeparty," a first of its kind quiz game for his students. He worked at Booz Allen for 8 years and then went on to Deloitte for another 8 years.
Cary was blessed with 3 daughters, Abigail (1995), Madeline (1996) and Nora (2006). He moved his family to their dream home on 7 acres in Barnegat, NJ, complete with a treehouse, tire swing, vegetable garden and legendary summer barn parties.
Cary loved road-tripping through the South, dive bars, trivia games and Miller Lite. For his 50th birthday, he took the trip of a lifetime and crossed the Panama Canal by boat.
On Sept 14, 2025, Cary took his last breath in Pennsylvania, just the way he would have wanted. He was surrounded by friends who loved him like a brother after a weekend of camping and live music.
Cary is survived by the legacy of his infectious signature laugh and his 3 daughters: Abigail (30), Madeline (28), and Nora (19). He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Harr and his six siblings: Robert Harr Jr. (Lori Matthews), Billie Wagner (William), Sherry Harr, Jamie Harr (Denise), Jody Stine (Craig) and Chris Harr (Julie) as well as his 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Harr Sr. and his infant sister, Deborah Harr.
A celebration of life will be held on October 4th at Cloverdale County Park in Barnegat, New Jersey at 12 p.m. We encourage everyone to bring their own chairs and their best stories about Cary. Cary was loved and admired dearly by all his incredible friends, his wonderful family and most of all, his three daughters. He will live on in our hearts forever.

I was a gymnast at CD while the wrestling team practiced in the wrestling room I used to tumble in between taken downs. I remember Cary has a kind and caring teammate, he cheered me on as I tumbled.

So sorry to hear this! I have been looking for Cary for the last couple years on social media, without any success. Cary was a great friend to me growing up. I imagine he was the same for those that he encountered throughout his life. Prayers for the Harr family!
