Fred Hayes, age 61, of Peru, passed away surrounded by his family on July 9, 2025. He was born to Thomas and Betty (Ray) Hayes on October 22, 1963. He is fondly remembered for his ownership and operation of M & T Truck Repair in Logansport.
Fred was a man of many passions. His love for fishing brought him much joy, as did working on old cars –an endeavor that showcased his mechanical expertise and creativity. Among his prized possessions was a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere, a vehicle that symbolizes his love for classic automobiles. Fred found great pleasure in watching movies and embarking on road trips, adventures that created cherished memories and stories that he would share with his family and friends.Known for his ornery spirit, Fred had a personality that was both engaging and spirited. He leaves behind his children, Jessie Hayes of Georgia, Elizabeth Hayes of Pennsylvania, and Terri (Alex) Duncan of Mentone, who will carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne (Dianne) Hayes, Eddie (Aubrey) Hayes, Richard Hayes, Darrell (Patty) Hayes, and Bobby and Frank Hayes, who will miss him deeply. Along with his dog Luna who will miss him dearly.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, multiple aunts and uncles.
Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580. The family is grieving privately at this time but services will be announced at a later date.

Love Fred here at Mcclures West!! He will be Missed dearly. Him and his Mello yellow!! Loved his stories and conversations!! Him and Eddie would come in and harass us or vs verse!! Lol. He will be missed!!

Fred was a great guy...I have known him about 30 yrs... he was always nice to me and treated me with respect.... we will miss him at my work-Logansport Napa- he was always a pleasure to see and wait on...
