Lucille Hyde Smith

July 9, 1929 - May 9, 2025

Lucille was born on July 9,1929 in Dixfield Maine to Carl and Myrtle Dain.

She married her late husband Merrill Earl Jr.(Smitty) of Johnstown , NY on July 29, 1950. She became the Matriarch of the family upon Merrills death in 1968 and raised 6 children on her own as a young widow.

Her strength and fortitude to accomplish anything during what seemed like unsurmountable difficulties has been an inspiration to her family lineage.

Lucille worked as a Legal Secretary at The Warren County NY Municipal Center until her retirement in 1999. She retired to North Florida to enjoy the Sunshine and her family.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Merrill Earl Smith Jr and her eldest Son David Merrill Smith and Daughter Allyson June Smith.

She is survived by her sons Jeffrey Smith of Altamonte Springs Fl and Gregory Smith of Bryceville, Fl and her daughters Paula Garretson of Eustis , FL and Suzanne Smith of Tallahassee, Fl. as well as 7 Grand Children and over 10 Great Grand Children.

A private graveside ceremony will be held in Lake George , NY.
