Andrea Joan "Andi" Cercos (née Mootz), age 76, passed away at her home on September 3, 2025, in Sonoma, CA. Born on June 16, 1949, in San Francisco, CA, Andi lived a life marked by devotion to her family, a passion for travel, and an indomitable spirit that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents, John L. Mootz, Dorothy R. Mootz (Torrano), and brothers Allan J. Mootz and William L. Mootz.
She is lovingly remembered by John S. Cercos; and sons, John S. Cercos Jr., Robert W. Cercos; and granddaughters, Cheyenne D. Cercos and Kaitlyn M. Cercos; and many cherished relatives; and loving life long friends, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of warmth and resilience.
She grew up in San Francisco, and was an accomplished ballet dancer invited to dance at the San Francisco Conservatory. She received her early education at Holy Name of Jesus Elementary School before attending St. Rose Academy. She later attended Lone Mountain College for Women.
In her early years as a mother, Andi worked as a teacher assistant for the Petaluma Unified School District.
Later, she found her professional calling as a dedicated travel agent with Dimensions in Travel in Novato, CA. Specializing in cruise ship travel, Andi helped countless clients explore the world.
Petite in stature but mighty in spirit, Andi was known for her sharp sense of humor, fierce loyalty, and unmistakable charm. A proud homemaker with an artistic flair, she was an accomplished seamstress, whose neatness skills were legendary among those close to her. Andi found great joy supporting her sons' athletic pursuits over the years-a devoted presence on the sidelines who cheered with pride at every game. She loved spending time with friends playing cards-especially Pedro-and treasured every opportunity to travel near or far. A fighter through life's challenges (her son, Bob, nicknamed her Badass) and she was patient to a fault. Andi embodied grace under pressure while never losing sight of what mattered most: family, friendship, and living fully.

I went to school with Andi at Holy Name. We were in the same class. I remember she was fun, had a beautiful smile and was a ballerina. After our 50th grammar school reunion we got reacquainted on Patti Jenkins hikes. She had not changed and my husband and I so enjoyed her company. She was a kick! My sincere condolences to her family. I know she is at peace and smiling!

The Mootz were my next door neighbors on 33rd Ave. I remember when Andi was born. Was buddies with Allan & Billy as they were known back then. Sorry to see this. Condolences to her family. She was a special lady

I have fond memories of Andi. I was in Andi´s class at Holy Name. I also remember enjoying many afternoons at Andy´s house where the Girl Scout troop I was in met. Andy´s mom was our leader. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to all of Andi´s family. May she rest in peace
