Helen Kufudakes Obituary
July 11, 1947 - July 22, 2025
Helen Kufudakes, 78, passed away on July 22, 2025. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Virginia, Helen's early years were spent throughout the Bay Area, starting in San Francisco and later finding deep belonging in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley and Valley of the Moon. Helen spent over 50 years as a beloved preschool teacher in Santa Rosa, known for her joyful energy and love of the outdoors. Her sunset years were rooted in Forestville, living "the good life" among the redwoods with her animals and community.
Helen will be remembered fondly for her jolly spirit and spunky humor. Her unwavering integrity and exuberant love of life was a gift to everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a loving family and many lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 1-4 p.m. at the Hollydale Community Clubhouse in Forestville. Donations in Helen's name can be made to a non-profit of your choice.
