John E. Tobolski Jr., of Chicago passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025
John was born November 1,1950, the oldest of seven and growing up in Garfield Ridge. He graduated from De La Salle High School and studied psychology and mathematics at Northern Illinois University. He continued his education at Roosevelt University. He enjoyed music, movies and was a foodie. John loved the Cubs, da Bears, the Blackhawks and NIU football games, especially enjoying the 2024 win against Notre Dame.
He is preceded in death by his parents John E Tobolski Sr. and Gloria [nee Grzymalski] Tobolski.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa and siblings Gloria Sendelbaugh, Francis [Tommy] Dymek, Stephen Tobolski, Paul [Cheri] Tobolski, Andrea [Tom] Kemp and Elizabeth [the late Peter] Dudak; uncle, aunt, and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
His daughter would like to thank Apex Health services for their compassion and support and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Per John's wishes, his body will be donated to Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts to the American Cancer Society.
A memorial luncheon will be planned at a later date.
