Anthony M. "Tony" Dwyer, 30, of Somers Point, NJ, passed away on July 14, 1989. Born on March 9, 1959, Tony was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was lost, and now he is found.

The son of Dr. Andrew Dwyer, a podiatrist, and Dolores LaRocco Dwyer, a Navy nurse, Tony attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and graduated from Mainland Regional High School in 1977. A standout athlete, he played Varsity Baseball and earned First Team, All-County, All-State honors as a football kicker. His nickname was "Tony the Toe." He played Football for the University of Tennessee and helped launch its hockey club.

Tony's love for sports extended into the community. He built a backyard skating rink where neighborhood kids came to skate and play hockey. He was a devoted Eagles, Phillies, and Flyer's fan attending many games.

As the owner of Tony's Pizza in Stone Harbor, he was known for his delicious pizza and signature Jeep beach deliveries.

He had a gentle spirit, a generous nature, and an unforgettable sense of humor. He loved to travel, visiting Spain, Ireland, Greece, Sweden, Canada, and Florida.

Deceased family members include his parents, Dr. Andrew and Dolores Dwyer; his brother David Dwyer; and his brother-in-law Sakchai Kietponglert. He is survived by siblings Susan Kietponglert, Patrick Dwyer, Andy Dwyer, Mary Beth Dwyer, and Holly Gibbons; and nieces Autumn Kietponglert (Matt Riser), Eden Kietponglert, Jewel Kietponglert, Emma Gibbons and Cecilia Gibbons.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 606 Shore Rd., Somers Point, NJ. Donations may be made to the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Scholarship Fund, 35 Sturbridge Ct., Egg Harbor Twp, NJ 08234.
