Vickie Clark Obituary

Vickie Clark, 69, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho.

Vickie Lynn Downs was born August 11, 1955, in Hacienda Heights, California to Betty and James Downs. She graduated from Los Altos High School in 1973. Vickie's older sister was Linda, whom she loved without measure. She was very close with and loved many relatives, especially her father, James, and she enjoyed sharing memories of her experiences with him and other close family members. As a beautiful young woman attending high school, Vickie met the love of her life, Rick Clark, and they were married on December 15, 1973.

In 1975, Vickie and Rick moved their young family to Preston, Idaho where they raised their four sons. The family shared a huge passion for baseball, and sharing this sport with her husband and sons brought her immense joy throughout her life. She loved being able to cheer on her boys, and later her grandsons.

The Clark house was where all the neighborhood kids felt welcome. Vickie not only had four sons but also welcomed each and every one of their friends in for dinner or to spend the night. Many of those young, now grown, men consider her a second mother.

Throughout her life, Vickie demonstrated unwavering sacrifice, love, and commitment to her family, always supporting them with an open heart. Vickie will be remembered for her compassionate nature, boundless generosity, and her unwavering tenacity. Her spirit and kindness touched all those who knew her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. Vickie gave all she had to the ones she loved.

Vickie is survived by her four sons and their spouses-William "Bill" & Lisa Clark of Pocatello, Idaho; Rick Jr. "Bo" & Shenell Clark of Malad, Idaho; Ian & Tara Clark of Kuna, Idaho; and Andrew "Zeb" & Grace Clark of Pocatello, Idaho -six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought immeasurable joy and pride into her life. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents James & Betty Downs, sister Linda, and husband, Rick.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Horsley Funeral Home in Malad, Idaho, followed by a graveside service at the Pleasantview Cemetery.
