Terrence "Terry" Jon Hamilton, 80, of Fruitland, IA, died Friday, July 4, 2025, at Muscatine Lutheran Living in Muscatine, IA. Services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron, Ill. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the start of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fenton Cemetery, Fenton, Ill. Memorials may be made to Church of the Cross – United Methodist Church, Port Byron.

Terry was born September 8, 1944 in Morrison, Ill., the son of C. Darrel and Jacqueline (Housenga) Hamilton. He was united in marriage to Barbara Happel at Church of the Cross in Port Byron on September 4, 1970. Terry worked for International Harvester for 23 years as a tool and die maker before going to work at some private companies in the Chicago and Rockford area. Eventually, he was hired as a tool and die manager at Hon Industries in Muscatine where he retired from in 2008.

Terry was a member of Church of the Cross in Port Byron, the Geneseo Moose Lodge and Sons of the American Legion, Muscatine. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball and softball. He also had a love for collecting farm toys.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; sons, Todd Hamilton, Rock Island, Ill., Scott Hamilton, Trussville, Ala.; grandson, Jordan Hamilton, Trussville, Ala.; granddaughter, Destiny (Emilio) Almanza, Rock Island, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte Almanza; siblings, Bruce (Virnette) Hamilton, New Milford, Conn., Mark (Leslie) Hamilton, Geneseo, Ill., Darryl Anne "Cookie" (Victor) Johnsen, Robinsville, Miss., Christin (Richard) Larson, Geneseo, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
