LIBERTY, INDIANA — Judy E. Puckett, 80, of Liberty died Friday, March 14, 2025, at her residence.
Judy was born on Aug. 15, 1944, to Francis G. and Juanita V. Ramey Wines in Richmond, Indiana. She married Carl on March 12, 2000; they shared seven years of marriage prior to his death in 2007. Judy was an incredibly hard worker. She was employed at Timkin Steel for almost a decade and later drove for the Union County Transit. In addition, she worked evenings as a night maid at Hueston Woods Inn and cabins. Judy spent many hours working on the farm raising horses, cattle, hogs and tending to all the other necessary tasks. She was an EMT certified volunteer First Responder in Somers Township, and a member of the American Humane Society. Judy enjoyed sewing and creating beautiful handmade comforters and quilts to give as Christmas presents. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and her family, including her dogs and cats. They will all miss her dearly.
Judy is survived by her children and their spouses: Willy and Nancy Puckett, Larry Puckett, Joseph and Casey Puckett, Missy Puckett; grandchildren: Nicole, Travis, Brian, Brenda, Ashley, Emily, Jordan; great-grandchildren: Josephine, Jane, Henry, Liam, Kayden, Colton, Keyon; sisters-in-law: Louise Wines and Diana Wines; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and Carl, Judy is preceded in death by her son David Puckett; grandson Joseph W. Puckett; brothers Paul, David, and Richard Wines, and sister Donna Dolan.
Per Judy's wishes, private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Judy's honor. Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty has been entrusted with arrangements.
