Edward Hassinger Obituary

Edward Hassinger Jr.
July 15, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Hassinger Jr., who left this world on July 15, 2025. A devoted husband, father, treasured grandfather, and loyal friend, Edward's warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew him. Born in Waterbury, CT to Edward Hassinger Sr. and Helen (Carbone) Hassinger, Edward lived a life rooted in integrity, kindness, and hard work. He was known for his deep sense of responsibility, and his gentle heart. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a story over coffee, or simply being present in times of need, Edward embodied the very best of what it means to be family. Ed provided Maryanne with strength and love that never wavered during their 59 years of marriage. He took great pride as a member of the Knights of Columbus as a Fourth Degree Knight. Ed enjoyed time spent with friends, establishing meaningful relationships throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his loving wife: Maryanne Hassinger, and his children: Candy Hassinger, and Heidi Fraser and her husband Randy Fraser. Edward was a loving and proud grandfather to Nicholas and Benjamin Fraser. He also survived by his brother-in-law, Joseph Paulo and his wife Lorraine, sister-in-law, Susan Hassinger, nieces and nephews, Jessica, Robert, Rebecca, Erica, Debbie Jo, and special friends, Alessandro Paoletto and Joe Santos. Edward's legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he so freely gave. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, John Paulo and Tom Tataranowicz, and brother, Robert Hassinger, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 20th, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, where family and friends are welcome to pay their respects.
Services will begin on Monday, July 21st, at 9:45am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Saint Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will conclude services in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
Though we mourn his loss deeply, we are forever grateful for the time we had with him. His love will continue to guide us, and his spirit will remain in our hearts, always.
