Thelma Louise Akley
Naugatuck- Thelma Louise Akley, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, August 1, 2025.
Born in Derby, CT, on February 14, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Newell and Lois (Knapp) Akley. She was a longtime resident of Naugatuck and had worked at the Washing Machine Laundromat. Thelma enjoyed baking, puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was an avid Yankee and Dallas Cowboy fan.
She leaves her family to honor her memory, sons, Jason A. Fanton (Brittany) of Naugatuck, and Brian M. Fanton (Jesenia) of FL; granddaughter, Mackenzie Fanton; sisters, Helen Catlin (Dave) of Oxford and Rachel Santini (William) of Derby; and several nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Anderson, Doris and Barbara Merritt, and Donna Akley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck. To send an online condolence or share a memory, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com .
