Gary Jenkins Obituary

Gary L. Jenkins, 87, of Teton, Idaho, passed away surrounded by family on July 1, 2025.

He was born in Vernal, Utah, on July 9th, 1937 to Harvey Cook Jenkins and Sarah Isabelle Robinson.

He spent his childhood in Rigby, Idaho.

He joined the army and was sent to serve in the Korean War.

Gary met the love of his life Barbara Furniss in November of 1960 in Idaho Falls, and they married February 10th, 1961.

They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, February 10th, 1995.

They soon added daughters to their family; Sarah Jean, Jana Lynn, Alane, and Myra Arlene.

He drove truck all over the United States.

Gary is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Jenkins, daughters; Jana (Bruce) Garner, Alane (Michael) Krieger, and Myra Jenkins, as well as, 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Sarah, his step mother, Edith, a brother, Larry, sisters, Beverly and Tacy and a daughter, Sarah Dennis.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9th at the Teton LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton Newdale Cemetery with military rites.
