Emma Owens Obituary

Mrs. Emma Frances Floyd Owens, age 89, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Riverwood Memory Care.

Frances was born in Rome, GA, on February 25, 1936, daughter of the late Conn Floyd and the late Ruth Stewart Floyd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Owens, brothers, James Floyd, Alton Floyd, Charles Floyd, Glenn Floyd, and Gail Floyd, sisters, Louise Hunter, Evelyn Gay, Joyce Beard, and Glenda Pierce.

Frances worked at Belk-Rhodes on Broad as a secretary to Mr. Rhodes. She then retired from First National/Suntrust after many years as a secretary in the financial loan department. Frances graduated from Armuchee High School in 1954. She loved shopping and vacationing with her family.

Survivors include her brothers, Earl Floyd, Edwin Floyd, and Max Floyd; her sister, Helen Stansell; daughter, Janet Holsomback (Eddy); her granddaughter, Megan Lovell (Adam); her grandson, Eric Holsomback (Kayla); her great grandsons, Rhett and Owen Lovell; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or by visiting www.dementiasociety.org.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1:00pm at Floyd Memory Gardens with the Rev. Dr. David Howard officiating.
