Arlene Louden Cartwright Obituary
Arlene Dale Louden Cartwright peacefully passed away at age 88 after suffering a heart attack and lingering for five days. She was born on August 17th, 1936, in San Francisco, CA to Vernon Russell Louden and Edith Vera Lake. She grew up in Sacramento and graduated from Grant Union High School in 1954. Arlene married Calvin Dale Cartwright on October 1st, 1955. They had four children: Carey, Lisa, Jim and Jeff.
Arlene went to work for Allstate Insurance in 1970 as a typist. She worked her way up through the ranks and became a claims adjuster and supervisor, handling all types of claims, from auto, homeowners, medical and working on several catastrophic events throughout the country. She retired in 1998 after 28 ½ years of service. She filled her retirement years enjoying her dogs Rosie and Gracie and playing a lot of golf with her sister Jeanie, brother John and fellow Allstate employee Carol Mitchell. When her health made it impossible to play anymore, she enjoyed watching it on TV and knew all the players.
Family was Arlene's greatest joy. She was so proud of her grandchildren and their many accomplishments. She is the grandmother to 13 and great-grandmother to 20. She is survived by her children: Carey Sweet (Tim), Lisa Busath (Bill), Jim Cartwright (Marianne) and Jeff Cartwright; and grandchildren: Whitney Busath-Shafer (Ben), Morgan Busath-Olson (Nate), Hilary Sweet-Bonelli (Chris), Sara Sweet, Adam Sweet, Ashley Busath-Heekin (Cody), Jillian Busath-Inouye (Scott), Hailey Busath-Laret (Tanner), Alexis Busath-Fulton (Jeffrey), Melissa Cartwright, Allison Cartwright-Hughes (Mike) and Brandon Cartwright, as well as her 20 great-grandchildren and brother, John Graham.
