Janice Lowell Obituary

Our beloved Janice Lyn Lowell left her earthly body for the glory of God on the evening of July 1st, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. Born December 26th, 1942, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Fredrick and Ruth (Fry) Kleinert, Janice had a wonderful upbringing in the golden age of Saginaw's City. Attending Saginaw High School followed by Olivet College where she studied early childhood education. On November 30th, 1973, Janice married the love of her life, Robert Cecil Lowell.
Jan will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for her friends. She cherished times playing cards and meals with family and friends, as well as shopping for her various collections, interior decorating and traveling with her husband.
Jan was an avid reader and dog lover, often guilty of spoiling her grand- doggies. Her love of southern hospitality and the rolling gulf waves brought her back to the sunny shores of lower Alabama year after year. Jan was a great friend and devout Christian. As a long time, member of the Freeland United Methodist Church, she would participate in many fundraising efforts, assisting funeral luncheons and adoring the little ones at Vacation Bible School.
Jan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bob; her children, Rob (Beth) Lowell, and Leslie Ann Lowell; her grandchild, Jacob; Sister, Kathleen "Kaki" Elliott; Nephew, Craig (Nellie) Elliott; Niece, Mellissa (Chris) Aronson; Sisters-in-law, Peggy (Darryl) James and Pat Kern as well as beloved family dogs Auggie & Tripp. Jan also leaves behind countless relationships with caring and wonderful friends from her Bridge group, the Bunko Gals, Quester friends and treasured neighbors; Raina & Ryder.
Through her courageous battle with cancer, Jan was looked after by many angels. The Lowell family would like to thank the caring staff of Brittany Manor, Dr. Marco Ramos & office, Nurses of Midland's My Michigan Medical Center and her in-home compassionate caregivers and friends; Holly & Judy.
Funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday July 11, 2025 at the Freeland United Methodist Church. Rev. Ernesto Mariona will officiate. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Freeland. Family and friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St. Freeland on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. In Lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Freeland United Methodist Church, Friends of Hoyt Library, the Saginaw Castel Museum or the donor's favorite charity.
