Spanish Fork, UT-Joseph Douglas "Doug" Christensen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, just ten days before his 76th birthday.

Born in Salem, Utah, on July 19, 1949, to J. Angus and Delia Christensen, Doug grew up working on the family farm.

His life changed forever during an eighth-grade class when he saw DeeAnn Tadd across the room-it was love at first sight. Their relationship became a lifelong partnership full of devotion, passion, laughter, and deep mutual respect.

Doug graduated from Utah State University, where he was a proud member of Sigma Nu. He later graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, Washington.

At 27 years old, he founded and became President and Chairman of Bonneville Bank, planting the seeds of a career that would flourish for over three decades. Under his leadership, the bank grew into a cornerstone of the region. He diligently served not only his customers but also the broader industry, becoming an active and respected voice in state and national banking associations, policymaking, and politics.

After 33 years of building something lasting, Doug sold the bank and embraced retirement, spending his days exactly as he wished-beside his sweetheart, DeeAnn. Doug was passionate about his yard and was thrilled to win "Yard of the Week" numerous times. He enjoyed traveling and was happy to take his wife and children on many vacations over the years. He loved cars (especially his GTO), Magnum P.I., Hawaiian shirts, yardwork, his neighborhood, friends, grandchildren, children, and especially his wife of 53 years.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, DeeAnn; his children, Holly Christensen, Stacy (Charley) Howarth, and Michael Douglas (Emma) Christensen; and his grandchildren, Lucille DeeAnn Howarth and Georgia Johanna Christensen. He leaves behind a legacy built on love, hard work, and quiet excellence. He was a man who led with principle, gave generously, and loved deeply. His presence will be missed profoundly, but his example will live on in the lives he shaped and the love he gave.
