Doris Earnest Obituary

Doris Louise Earnest, age 97, of Floral City, died at her residence under the care of her family and Vitas Hospice on September 16, 2025. Born in Tampa, FL, on October 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Alphous and Hilda (Ratliff) Ivey.

Doris moved to Citrus County from Okeechobee in 1990 with her late husband of 49 years, Nolan Earnest. He passed on May 5, 1995. She was a homemaker and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Okeechobee.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Diane (Don) Steed of Floral City and Linda (Doyle) Ray of Seffner, FL; 2 grandchildren: Scott Ray and Jennifer Lee; 5 great-grandchildren: Taylor Segrest, Landon Williams, Nolan Ray, Brandon Ray, and Mason Ray. 1 great-great-grandson, Carter Bowman.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th at 3:30 PM at the mausoleum chapel of Fero Memorial Gardens. Dr. Dennis Bennett will officiate. Entombment will follow.

The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted Vitas Hospice, 3350 W. Audubon Park Path, Lecanto, FL 34461
