Belva Lee Souza

February 17, 1932 - December 26, 2024

Cayucos, California - Belva Lee Souza passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024 at the age of 92. Born February 17, 1932, Belva grew in Morro Bay and attended schools in Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo High School. When Belva was 12 years old she was at her stepfather's shop in Morro Bay and met Albert Souza who was having a tractor repaired. She told all of her friends that "She was going to marry Albert Souza", and when Albert returned from the Korean War they were married on January 17, 1954. Both Albert and Belva were only children, and they relied heavily on each other. Belva is with her beloved Albert, who passed away in 2016, with whom she shared nearly 63 years together. Albert was the love of her life and they shared a wonderful life raising their three children in Cayucos. Belva had many wonderful friends she cherished throughout her life, but her pride and joy was her family. Belva is survived by her son Steve and his wife Julie, and their children Stuart, Clay, and Ty, her son Donny, and her daughter Kathleen Thomson and her husband John, and their children Nikki and Taylor.

A graveside service was held at the Cayucos Cemetery on Thursday, January 2, at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are being made by Reis Family Mortuary in San Luis Obispo. In Lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to the Dementia Society of America
