FREEPORT – Alan R. Beck, age 69, formerly of Milledgeville died Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.
Alan was born on October 21, 1955 in Sterling the son of Roy and Gladys (Diamond) Beck. His grandparents are William and Anna Beck and William and Anna Diamond.
He was raised on the family dairy farm east of Milledgeville where he learned the regiment and responsibility of rural life. Alan married Dominique Hutchison on March 20, 1994 near Hitt in an outdoor service. They made their home on Livingood Road and from there they shared the adventures of each passing day.
Alan in addition to farming for 20 years, worked for Harlan Hollewell, the Pearl City Elevator, Mid-West Soil Management, Farmers Business Network and Dahm Enterprises. He and Dominique purchased and ran Mid-West Soil Management as owner/operators for 7 years.
Alan took an active part in Community Mennonite Fellowship, serving on the Steering Committee several terms. One of his interests and avenue of attention was to focus on the youth of the fellowship.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Milledgeville Brethren Church. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM with Dr. Reverend Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow at South Elkhorn Cemetery, Milledgeville. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
