Died: July 3, 2025 in Rockford, IL
Barbara McClanahan, 77, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She worked as a funeral director for 18 years for Delehanty Funeral Home, prior to her retirement.
Barbara enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spent her free time volunteering with the Nicolas Conservatory and was a member of The Lions Club. A lifetime football fan, and thanks to her granddaughters, Barbara became an avid supporter of the UGA Bulldogs.
Barbara was born, March 4, 1948, in Dixon, the daughter of Charles and Doris (Wiener) Lookingland.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Mindy (Philip) Ouellete of Dunwoody, GA; two granddaughters, Corrine Ouellete, Clarie Ouellete; one brother, William "Bill" (Patty) Lookingland of Anchorage, AK; and one sister, Judy (Jim) Lahman of Franklin Grove, IL. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Eugene Lookingland; and one sister, Tammy Davidson.
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, July 11, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with Pastor Jack Briggs, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
