Tommy Dale Shropshire
Nov. 13, 1951 – July 13, 2025

Tommy Dale Shropshire was born on Nov. 13, 1951, in Sallisaw, to Dewey and Audrey Shropshire. Tommy went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 73.
Tommy attended Brushy Elementary as a young boy. He graduated from Sallisaw High School as part of the class of 1970. Following high school, he attended classes at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.
On June 27, 1970, Tommy married his late wife, Chery Davidson. Together they had three children, Mike, Billy and Eric Shropshire.
On July 9, 2013, Tommy married Debbie Piersing, and became a proud stepdad to Karl, Leigh Ann, Heather, and Ryan.
Tommy was a Southern Baptist pastor. For over 40 years, he was driven by a deep conviction to share the gospel. He pastored in many communities including Notchietown, Boynton, Coyle, Gore, Brush Hill, Muskogee, Vian and Okemah, where he led many people to know Christ. Tommy spent many of these years working bi-vocationally. He managed a furniture store in McAlester for ten years, and he worked for Williamson Funeral Home in Wetumka. Tommy also volunteered for Project D.A.R.E., educating students on drug awareness.
Tommy loved woodworking. He also enjoyed Southern Gospel music. Tommy considered it a joy and privilege to bring Southern Gospel individuals and groups to sing at the churches that he pastored.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Audrey Shropshire; his wife, Chery; his son, Thomas Eric Shropshire; brothers, Billy Shropshire and Randy Shropshire; as well as one sister, Sandy Shropshire Hibbert.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Shropshire; brother, Jimmy Shropshire (Donna); his sons, Michael Shropshire, Billy Shropshire (Gina), Karl Piersing (Michelle), and Ryan Piersing (Nicole); daughters, Leigh Ann Piersing (Jeremy) and Heather Sayre (Kevin); 14 grandchildren, Jordan, Trason, Josh, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Tyler, Aubrey, Wesley, Grace, Erin, Charles, Samuel, Owen and Opal; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services for Tommy Dale Shropshire will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Brushy Holiness Church.
Viewing for the family will be held at the church beginning at 12 p.m., and public viewing beginning at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Brushy Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
