Janet Dyer Obituary

Janet Sue Dyer (Trapp), but to everyone who truly knew her, she was GiGi. Born to Herbert and Ruth Trapp on August 24, 1944, at Wichita St. Francis hospital. She was the second oldest of four siblings.

After graduating from North High, she married Doyle Dyer, November 30, 1962, and began their lives together. They welcomed their first born, David, in June of 1963, then Douglas, in May of 1966. Janet was a devoted wife and loving mother, but she also pursued a career as an office professional.

Janet and Doyle enjoyed crafting and traveling together. They liked to garden and landscape their home together.

After retiring, Janet devoted much of her time to her grandkids, great grandkids. A devout Christian, she attended church regularly. Especially in the later years of Ruth, her mother’s life. Also often joining them was her granddaughter Calen.

Janet was also well known for the giving of her time, never expecting anything in return. She truly was the matriarch of the family. She enjoyed sharing her love of crafting and gardening with her grandchildren and just spending as much time with them as she could. Janet loved shopping for wonderful deals. Often making donations to the local church. And of course, spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids.

Janet is now with those that preceded her in death. Her parents, Herbert and Ruth Trapp; husband, Doyle Dyer; sister, Marilyn Talbot; brother, Craig Trapp; sister-in-law, Jean Trapp; and her best 4-legged companion, Bella.

Survived by sons, David Dyer (Judy Jones); and Douglas Dyer Tami; older brother, Jim Trapp (Deanna); and brother-in-law, Ron Talbot. Grandchildren, Christopher; Chelsea (Scott); Calen (Shean); and Laynie (Cody); and great grandchildren; Calvin and Amelia (Chelsea); Jackie (Calen); Nicole; Karly; CJ; Lanson; and Cayson (Laynie).

So sorry for you loss! Janet was a life time best friend, even though we didn’t get together all the time! Started working at Peerless Pies at sixteen sacking fried pies! I will miss my friend and smile at all the memories we shares. RIP my friend❣
