Rickey Pratt Obituary

Rickey Pratt
August 18, 1951 – July 20, 2025
Rickey Nolan Pratt, age 73, of Valencia, CA was born on August 18, 1951 and returned to his heavenly home on July 20, 2025.
The Man, the Myth, the Legend could be how Rick was described. This humorous description certainly would have made him laugh, but there is much truth in it. Rick lived every day like it was his last; full of life, love, and generosity. He will be remembered for his jovial laughter and booming voice. He never saw a stranger in the people he met. He was a dreamer at heart, but was able to make many of those dreams a reality.
In his younger years, Rick was an avid athlete. A Southern California native, he attended school in Glendale, CA and was a graduate of Hoover High School, where he played basketball and baseball. He attended college at California State University Northridge, where he played baseball for the Matadors and the Dodger's college farm team. He coached young athletes for the Connie Mack baseball league, some who went on to play professionally. Rick was also an accomplished golfer. In 1998, at age 46, he competed in the California Amateur Open at Spanish Bay and Pebble Beach, another dream realized.
Rick spent 30 years working in the film industry as a Grip. His profession took him across the country and around the world making feature films and TV shows, allowing for many exciting experiences and a lot of interesting stories.
Rick was a passionate winemaker and owner of Two Papas Wines, making award winning wines that he enjoyed sharing with everyone, especially when he cooked for his family and friends.
Rick proudly served our country as a reservist in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Out of all his adventures and passions, Rick's greatest joy and accomplishment was his family. He is survived and forever cherished by his wife Teresa of 48 years; his daughter Lauren and her husband Ben, his son Nolan and daughter-in-law Dana; and his biggest pride and joy of all, his 5 grandchildren; Benjamin, Jack, Boden, Cameron and Alexis. He is also survived by one brother, Michael.
Rick will be greatly missed by those who knew him and welcomed by those he loved who went before him. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Circle of Hope at circleofhopeinc.org, will bring hope and healing to those fighting cancer.
