Marilyn BOLT Obituary

August 24, 1938 - June 23, 2025

Prosser - Marilyn Jayne Bolt joined our Lord in Heaven on Monday, June 23. She passed away peacefully of natural causes at Prosser Memorial Hospital. Marilyn was born to Glen and Bonnie Trefren on August 24, 1938. She grew up in Spokane, WA, and graduated from West Valley High School in 1956. She attended Washington State College in the Fall of 1956. Marilyn met her husband, Clarence Lee, in 1957 while attending college. In 1960, Marilyn was in the first class to graduate from the renamed Washington State University with a degree in Education. They were married in June of 1960 and shared nearly 50 years together. In the early years of their marriage, Clarence and Marilyn lived in Ontario, OR, and Othello, WA, where she worked as a school teacher. In 1963, moved to Prosser, WA, and Marilyn left teaching to raise their two children, Andy and Diana. Grandview, WA, became their home in 1974, where they farmed cherries and other fruit for 23 years. Marilyn served on the Grandview School Board from 1978 to 1984, including serving as the School Board President. The couple moved back to Prosser after retiring from farming and enjoyed spending their time travelling and with family. Their favorite time was spent on Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Bonnie Trefren; her sister, Margaret Trefren; and her husband, Clarence Lee Bolt. Marilyn is survived by her children, Andy (Teddi) and Diana (Stacy Puterbaugh); her six grandchildren, Alex (Itze), Levi (Katie), Channing, Kiersten, Drew (Meghan), and Ailsa; and her seven great-grandchildren, Sayla, Loretta, Monroe, Soren, Oliver, Bjorn, and Henrik.

Viewing with be held at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, WA, on July 2, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Celebration of life will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, WA, at 9:00 am, on July 3, followed by a graveside service at the Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Marilyn's memory, make a tribute to Foundation Bible Church, 270 N3 Gap Road Prosser, WA 99350.
