News Death Notice

DALLAS, Marilyn Sue beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, 77 of Urbana went to be with the Lord and her husband on March 15, 2012. She was born on November 16, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of Torrence and Eva (Comer) Myers. Marilyn graduated from Springfield North High School in 1952. She enjoyed working at White Motors and Kissell Company and worked at Walmart in Urbana for over 25 years. Marilyn and Don met on the dance floor one night, and they continued to dance for over 47 years. During those years, Marilyn loved working in her flower beds, and being a member of the Quilters Guild. Her favorite memories were traveling with her husband Don. She is survived by her 2 children; Melinda 'Mindy' (Kenny) Lensman of St. Paris and Todd (Cindy) Dallas of Urbana; 2 brothers, Steven (Sharon) Myers of Urbana and Keith (Patricia) Myers of Tennessee; 2 sister-in-laws, Jeanne (John) Neer of North Lewisburg and June Dallas of Urbana; 5 Grandsons, Eric (Jessica) Lensman, Chad (Shannon) Lensman, Garrett Dallas, Cody Lensman and Justin Dallas; 4 Great Grandchildren, Brayden, Claire, Drake and Cade Lensman and 1 soon-to-be Great Grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many special friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband and sister, Jane Sinkovich. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev Stephen Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, PO Box 38125, Urbana, OH 43078 or to the American Cancer Society Champaign County Relay For Life, 226 Laurel Oak St., Urbana, OH 43078. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com.

Mindy and Todd, I want you both to know you have many many great memories of your Mom. She was special to all who knew her. We were friends for 60 years. You both has been in my thoughts since your first call. Know that she is happy now, being with Don now and her body is whole again. You will see them again in the future, I know. Love you much.
