Henry Boyd Obituary
In February of 1959, he proudly enlisted and served for 4 years in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge. After serving his country, he worked at General Foods (now Kraft Heinz) for 34 years as machine operator and retired in 1997. He was a member of the Temple Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M. Also, he was a lifetime member of the VFW where he served as an Adjutant/Secretary and enjoyed cooking meals on Friday nights for the community.
Allen was known as one of the most gifted athletes in the local area and loved to watch baseball and softball games supporting his grandchildren and local youth. He enjoyed the outdoors, taking care of his yard, cooking and having his afternoon "tea" while friends would stop by to visit.
He was predeceased by his son, Randy Boyd, and his siblings Clifton, Robert, Charles, James I. Sr., Shirley Boyd Tribbitt, and Hazel Boyd Kibler.
Allen spent 60 happy years with his loving wife, Cynthia Boyd and treasured his family, daughter: Marsha Saathoff (John) grandchildren: Julie MacDonald (Anthony), Allan Saathoff, (fiance' Adyson Helms), Mary Boyd, great-granddaughter: Lennox MacDonald.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM with a funeral service to begin immediately following at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 West Sunset Ave. Greensboro Maryland where friends and family can join us to celebrate and remember a beautiful life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in memory of Allen to Compass Regional Hospice 160 Coursevall Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
