Barbara Harris Obituary

Barbara Moore Harris, age 77, of Starkville, MS, passed away on July 6th, 2025, surrounded by all five of her children, and her beloved husband of 60 years, Sammie Harris.
Barbara was married at age 17 to her best friend on the side of the road (a fond family story) and was a highly devoted mother with an entrepreneurial spirit. She will be remembered for her selflessness, sense of humor, and incredible generosity. Barbara was the type of mom who talked to each of her children every day, without fail - a true caretaker. She is now reunited with many loved ones in heaven, and we will all look forward to seeing her again, there.
She is survived by her husband Sammie Harris; Brother Tommy (Susan) Moore; Children J Paul, Link, Vince (Marsha), Nicole, Amanda and bonus son, Chad; Grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Cameron, Brady, Aspen, Courtney, Nickolas, Ramsay, Ethan and Jesse; and Great-grandchildren Leo, Evelyn and Rowdey. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Paul and Marie Boyett Moore; brother Johnny Moore; and sister Gloria Gwennette Moore.
Barbara's wishes were not to have a service, but to be celebrated privately by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s or American Cancer Society in her memory.
