Bonnie Heugly Obituary

Bonnie Jean Heugly

1942~2025

Bonnie Jean Heugly, our dear, sweet and beautiful Mother passed away on September 5, 2025 at the age of 83 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born in Payson, Utah on April 17, 1942 to Lawrence Fred Butler and Marguerite Carruth Butler. Bonnie attended Payson High School and later the University of Utah. She will be remembered for her intelligence, grace and wit.

She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt and was always someone her children, family and friends could go to for advice, unconditional love and comfort. She inspired cherished first laughs and devotion among her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She came from a long line of fiercely strong and independent women enjoying careers in the banking, hotel and healthcare industries over her lifetime where her generous caring for the well-being of all those she had an influence will be greatly missed and celebrated moving forward.

Our Mother enjoyed traveling abroad with family and friends celebrating the richness of people and culture. She enjoyed the arts and the human experience. She was devoted to her life-long friendships that brought her such happiness.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, Sister; Jacque Burton and Grandson; Jordan. She is survived by her children, Gregory (Sally), Brian (Paula) and Matthew; 5 Grandchildren: Tyler, McKenna, Mark, Cameron, Dalton and 8 great grandchildren.

Our family would like to extend gratitude to the hospice team at Intermountain Health for their compassion and care of our Mother.

A celebration of Bonnie's beautiful strength of spirit will be held on Friday, September 19th from 6-8pm at the Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.

I worked with Bonnie at Little America and always enjoyed her quick wit, dedication to doing things "the right way" and ensuring the guest was well taken care of. She set a great example for all who worked with her and she will be missed.

I work with Bonnie for many years in the banking industry. She was a kind and special lady. She loved her family and was very proud of them. When I walk into Little America, I always look for her at the concierge desk. It was always so fun to talk to her there. She will be missed. Thank you, Bonnie, for your friendship and supporting me at the Washington Federal Savings, Olympus Hills office. We had fun and worked well together; you complemented me. God Bless.
