Jennifer Simpson Obituary

Jennifer Renee Simpson, 47, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous fight against cancer.
Jen was a caring, selfless, and very intelligent woman. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend. But her favorite role was being a Mom, and her daughter Zoey was her whole world. Jen was loved by so many, and her family meant everything to her. She will forever be missed by all who loved her, especially her family.
Jen had many interests, but music was her passion. One of her favorite things to do was going concerts with her family and friends. She loved The Goo Goo Dolls, Bruce Springsteen, and The Beatles, among many others. Jen was a big sports fan too. Her favorite teams were the New York Giants, Atlanta Braves, and Syracuse Orange.
Jen was a 1997 graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse high school, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She also attended Onondaga Community College. Jen was a licensed real estate agent for Inquire Realty and worked as an admissions advisor for National Laser Institute for 15 years.
Jen is predeceased by her grandparents; Carmella and Victor Gillette, Barbara and Charles Barry, uncle; Frank Barry, aunt; Helen Barry and father in-law; Raymond Simpson.
Jen is survived by her parents; Marilou Gillette Barry and Charles R Barry, husband; Mark Raymond Simpson, daughter; Zoey Renee Simpson, mother-in-law; Sandra Simpson, brother; Gregory (Jaime) Barry, step father; Alex Noce, step siblings; Stacey, Stephanie, Sonja, Matt, and Aaron, uncle; Victor Gillette, aunt; Nancy Barry and several cousins.
We would like to thank the nurses at Roswell Park in the ICU and 6 West for their compassionate care for Jen. We also thank Mari and Colleen for their loving care at home.
Family and friends may call Monday, October 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave. Solvay. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St. N. Syracuse. BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, has care of arrangements.

Jen , You fought like a Tuefel Hunden . You will always be my supergirl . You always brought light and warmth into a room . When I turn on the porch light and hundreds of things are attracted to it I´ll remember you . Your light is and always will be surrounded by so many of us . It will never go out . I said to you I´d do anything you needed. The hardest thing was having to let you go ! Love you forever , Your Gral .

I never met Jennifer, but I´ve heard such wonderful things about her from her dad, who I know through family. She is so beautiful, and so is her daughter. She is certainly loved by her family. May they all be comforted at this very difficult time. Prayers for all.

Whenever I think of Jen, I think of her smile that lit up a room. I think of her love of her family, her bands, and her friends. When we worked at Kinko's together, her laughter and humor made the time go faster. You can't help but love her. She was a special gift to everyone who knew her.

I first met Jen at National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. That was around 15 years ago and I remember being drawn to her right away. She was very genuine and kind. We used to stay late at work together and she's been to my home and I've been to hers just to visit and eat together. I always loved being around her and have missed our visits since she moved out of Arizona. She is so loved by so many and knowing she is gone from this earth is such a huge loss.

Jen, it's so hard to accept that you are gone. I wish I could find the right words to express how unfair and heartbreaking this is, but I am at a loss. I'm still talking to you everyday , and I know you are there. You are loved by so many and will always live on

My beautiful Jen . I wake up everyday and can´t believe this is real . It´s not supposed to be this way . I know I told you I would be ok but I think we both knew how incredibly hard it would be . I have to try to find a way to move forward but you are everywhere I look . My only comfort is that you are no longer suffering because you suffered so much . I know you want me to be strong for Zoey and I am going to try my hardest . Until we meet again my daughter , my best friend , my " little consoler ". I love you more than words could ever express .

My Sista Jen. My heart is so broken and in disbelief . Why do the good ones leave so soon. I´ll always remember East End nights, Water St, Outback with Appletinis and meeting up in Syracuse before you moved to AZ with Markie. So many beautiful memories you´ve left us with. I know Fruntro is waiting for you with open arms ready to tear that dance floor up in heaven under that disco ball. Xoxo -Miss K

Oh my Sister Jen.
I couldn´t even tell you the first time we met, because it was like we knew each other forever.
Those Booty days always bring great memories, and certain songs I hear still make think of you and will always bring a smile to my face.
I was so happy you found love with Markie, and seeing you become a mom and share and teach all that love inside you to your beautiful Zoey was heart filling.
Life isn´t fair sometimes... this is one of those times.
Your light has gone out, but lives on through your family.
Good night my Sister, keep that disco ball spinning with Fruntro until we see each other again.

I met Jen years ago when both of our boyfriends were roommates and in the same bands!! We had so much fun watching them play and hanging out together. She gave me many words of wisdom and a lot of much needed advice. She was a beautiful soul and helped me thru so many hard times. My heart is broken. I miss you my friend.

Oh, my sweet niece and God child, just having you in my life was a gift from God. We sure had an awful lot of fun and silliness and I thank you for loving me. I certainly love you. From visits to NC, to accidents in Port Byron, to acquiring many nieces and nephews via your friends, to Bruce concerts and talking of him with tears after you met him, I will remember it all and love you for the rest of my life and beyond. I will see you again, sweet girl and I will think of you every time I look into your daughter´s eyes. Until then remember, "what you feel is what you are and what you are is beautiful. "Meet me in the dream...

Jen, You were ALWAYS a warrior woman. Your human spirit, strength, friendship, courage and committment were steadfast. I was blessed nearly 13 years ago to work with you, as a team member, at National Laser. You welcomed me lovingly. Imagine that! I remember telling you, when I had to listen to audio of sales reps while in training, who is Jen?!! She is amazing! Every time I listened to you talking with potential students something was truly different. Your connection to a total stranger, over the phone, was engaging, warm, caring, kind, encouraging and so thoughtful. You gave ALL of you to a total stranger as you did to each of us. Oh the fun we had and the laughter we shared. You had a beautiful laugh. I can still hear it. Warrior woman, you fought the fight and you will be remembered daily in my thoughts and prayers. Heaven has you now. An Angel that will be deeply missed. Bless your sweet soul and I will continue to pray for your family and Zoey. Love you, JB.

Jen and I met in 1999 because of our shared love of Goo Goo Dolls. I knew she was something special the very first time I met her. We became such good friends over the years and made cherished memories along the way. She was beautiful, kind and wise beyond her years. I will miss her dearly.

Jen,You will be so missed by so many. When I first met Jen she was a bright light and the sweetest soul. She didn´t deserve the illness that life dealt her and she was taken way too soon. One thing in her life that was clearly evident was the love that her and Mark shared,it was true and pure and They were truly made for each other, soul mates.Mark and Zoey were her whole world and they shared a beautiful life that couldn´t be denied.Im absolutely positive that Jen will always be with them in spirit and will always watch over them,in that they can be sure.
You were special Jen and so loved, rest easy now.
Sincerely,
Lori Alessi

Jen´s laughter will forever be etched into my heart.
She was such a beautiful soul. Brilliant, loving, loyal, and full of immense courage and strength. She leaves behind a trail of unforgettable memories, and it´s clear how deeply special she was to so many of us.

Jen and I shared our own unique language, where every emotion could be perfectly summed up by a short, funny clip from Friends.

She once shared a quote while honoring a dear friend: `Life isn´t forever, but love is.´ It was the same quote I used when I lost my Dad. I remember how deeply it touched us both-and now, it resonates even more.

We miss her already.
