Donna Breen Obituary

Donna Theriot Breen, a native and resident of Pierre Part, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at the age of 71. Donna grew up in Pierre Part, a small Cajun town in south Louisiana. It was in this sacred culture of family, food, music and church, that her character was molded and defined. At 18 she moved to Baton Rouge and shortly after met Jimmy Breen. They were married in January of 1974. Although the marriage did not last, the familial ties remained, bound by the love they both shared for their three children. Donna was extraordinarily proud of her kids and the families they created, and she felt profoundly blessed to spend the last several weeks of her life surrounded by her grandchildren. In 1979, Donna began working as a bookkeeper for Int'l Productions & Publications Inc., the parent company of the Cinderella Scholarship Pageant. Throughout the following 45 years as her role in the company grew to chief operating officer, she became the beating heart of Cinderella. There are no adequate words to express the way in which she poured all of herself into the program and the positive impact she had on thousands of Cinderella girls and their families from all over the world. And while Donna did experience much of the world, the old adage, "Home is where the heart is.", led her back to Pierre Part in 1998, where she resided until her passing. Her passion for dancing was an inherent part of who she was. Her generosity, selflessness, and the way in which she loved unconditionally will be her lasting legacy. Donna is survived by her sons, Stephen Breen (Tabby), Andrew Breen (Judy), and daughter Laura Calhoun (John); brothers, Curtis Theriot and Randy Theriot; mother, Delta Theriot; grandchildren, Marissa Ford, Shaun Breen, and Shelby Breen, John Riley, Summer, Evan, and Arabel Calhoun, and Margaret and Oliver Breen; great-grandson Ronnie Ford IV. She was preceded in death by her child, baby Breen; father, Stephen Theriot; and brother, Tommy Theriot. Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 3304 Highway 70 South in Pierre Part on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM (praying of the rosary prior to Mass at 10:30 AM). Burial immediately following Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire ICU team at Baton Rouge General hospital at Bluebonnet, Father Alex Harb, Larry Breen and Tony's Seafood, and to Stephanie, Nick and Dylan for their profound gift.
