Wayne Glenn Obituary

Wayne Carroll Glenn, age 85, of Sykesville passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Lorien Health in Mt. Airy. Born April 17, 1940, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Walter Carroll and Alberta Alice (Townsend) Glenn. He was the husband of 64 years to Gerri Marie Glenn. Wayne served in the United States Army. He worked in the steel industry for more than 50 years. He enjoyed many years coaching his son's baseball teams through Howard County Youth Program. Wayne was a member of his neighborhood group "The Four Flushers," which brought him great joy and everlasting friendships. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan- always staking his claim in Lot G. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with Gerri and friends. What he enjoyed most was his time with his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan on the sidelines of their sporting events, attending every chance he could. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and daughters-in-law, Marc and Lisa Glenn, Gregg and Michelle Glenn, and Eric and Shannon Glenn; brother, Richard Glenn and his late wife Roberta; grandchildren, Caroline Glenn and husband Jason Smith, Garrett, Jackson, Trent, Greyson, Noah, and Nicky Glenn; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Smith. The family will receive friends from 3 PM to 5 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a service will follow at 5 PM.
